SUMMARY:Foundation
DESCRIPTION:Foundation is an event hosted by AIGA South Dakota and Untitled.10\, featuring both student and professional designers.  \nNine students and eleven professionals were separated into groupings of four; two students and two professionals. Each group was then given a prompt; a “foundation” of design curriculum. The five prompts included: Golden Ratio\, V-Shape\, Rule of Thirds\, Diagonal\, and Unbalanced. Each designer was then given the freedom to interpret their prompt. Each grouping was displayed together at the exhibit.  \nThis exhibit was a learning and networking experience for student designers. It also showcased the versatility and talent amongst local designers; novice and experienced alike.

SUMMARY:The Blues
DESCRIPTION:The Blues was hosted and juried in collaboration with the University of Sioux Falls. \nOur call for art in this unique exhibition required a monochromatic piece; in this instance\, a monochromatic blue piece. Over 80+ submissions were received\, and 35 were chosen to be included in our exhibit. \nThis event included an installation piece that was designed and implemented by the Untitled.10 team. This event also featured a performance courtesy of the USF Jazz band.

SUMMARY:Creative Creatures
DESCRIPTION:“Creative Creatures” is an art exhibition taking place at and in collaboration with the Great Plains Zoo. Headlined by artists Amanda Boerger and Cameron Stalheim with their artwork being featured in the Snow Monkey\, and Asian Cat “galleries”. The show also features a group show of other local artists and students depicting various types of “wild” art and a mini mural from painter Jenae Porter. A great way to kick off the holiday season with original art\, s’mores\, holiday lights\, and animals galore!

DESCRIPTION:“Voices” is a visual and performing arts exhibition that exclusively features BIPOC artists. In  collaboration with South Dakota Voices for Peace\, we have invited creatives to share their thoughts\, feelings and experiences related to race and diversity.  We selected artists from a variety of mediums including painting\, photography and poetry.  In the lead up to a major midterm election and in the wake of bans on teaching critical race theory\, we all feel it is important to share the voices of creative people who face the ignorance and racism in our population.

DESCRIPTION:“Fresh Faces”\, an exhibition of self portraits from working artists across diverse communities. The show features a wide range of approaches to self-portraiture with each artist pledging a donation to The Banquet\, a non-profit feeding ministry for those in need in Sioux Falls\, SD. The show is hosted and supported by Epicosity. The free public reception is an opportunity for art lovers of all kinds to gather and get to know some of the new faces in the local scene.

SUMMARY:New Heights
DESCRIPTION:“New Heights” is an amazing bird themed art installation featuring local and international visual artists.  Kiley Busko and Tom Bates exhibit a large series of paintings and graphic prints respectively. The gallery is transformed into a papercraft forest through an installation from artists and gallery director Amy Fill.  The third component is a two-part salon of over 40 pieces of art from avian artists who answered our call for bird art on social media.

DESCRIPTION:Untitled.10 has invited four South Dakota artists to populate the taproom of Remedy Brewing Co.  with paintings that have a life of their own. The show focuses on the human figure as subject matter and presents intimate scenes from cerebral realities.  During the reception\, these and other local artists will exhibit their creative skills in a live drawing session on the back patio. Hang out\, drink\, draw and meet some cool people!

SUMMARY:Square Mileage
DESCRIPTION:“Square Mileage” is an invitational gallery show showcasing 50 South Dakota artists across many disciplines. Every artist made a new piece within the dimensions of one square foot.  Each artwork represented an answer to the question “What does South Dakota mean to you?” Money raised during the event will be donated to The Oscar Howe Summer Arts Institute\, an annual art camp hosted every summer at USD for high school students who want to pursue art and connect to the legacy of Plains Indian artist\, Oscar Howe.
